Thank you so much for all of the birthday wishes! We had a great time hanging out in the city, eating lots of food, and having some drinks. Unfortunately this weekend was cold and rainy in Chicago, but at least that allowed me wear my new rain boots! Some places we went to in Chicago that I would highly recommend were Bang Bang Pie, Parson’s Chicken and Fish, Analogue, and Longman & Eagle. Side note: Longman & Eagle also has some rooms above the restaurant that you can rent. So if you are visiting Chicago it is definitely a place you should consider staying at if you like the Logan Square neighborhood.
Aside from celebrating, we did some major spring cleaning/rearranging of furniture. Our living room/dining room is in an open layout and we always wonder if it would look better arranged differently. I’m not sure how many times we have changed the layout in our two years living here. We moved around furniture, cleaned out some closets, packed up random things we’ve accumulated but don’t really need sitting out (lots of wedding stuff). It felt good to declutter and organize, but it still seems like we’ve got a lot to do. Our next goal is to tackle our bedroom and our spare room.
Dan and I are twinning in our rainy day look. We spent a lot of time inside just lounging around and cleaning so that’s why we stuck with comfy plaid shirts. It was in the lower 40s, which is why we actually need to where hats this weekend. We are both even wearing blue shoes! But I like that the rain boots are a nice bright blue that will stand out on a gloomy day.
