This is another outfit from the Novelstyle shoot and I was so excited to have the chance to wear this dress. I was immediately drawn to it because of the nautical stripes, but it actually had so many unique features too. First is the neck tie that gives it an added nautical, sailor look. It also has a sort of cropped top that makes it appear as if it could be two separate pieces. Paired with the adorable hat, I was in love with the look! Since I was only wearing it for the photo shoot, I didn’t actually get to wear it for too long, but it would be the perfect outfit to wear on a beach getaway. I can picture myself wearing it in a small town in Michigan, somewhere on the lake.
Recently I’ve been feeling like there just aren’t enough hours in the day. Especially on days that I work 12-8 (which is twice a week) and I have to motivate myself to get something done before I leave for work a little after 11. That’s usually my time for working on the blog, but I have (a lot of) days I just want to binge watch Girls and not think about real life!
Jess from The Golden Girl recently shared some productivity tips on her blog including the Pomodoro Technique and I think it’s about time that I give it a try. Essentially the idea is you work for a set amount of time and then you have a short, rejuvenating break that will allow you to work for another set amount of time. They recommend that you start with 25 mins working with a 5 min break and repeat. I think the key tip is that you start with doing something productive, because my current habit is to say, I’ll just watch one episode and then get something done. But we all know that one episode easily turns into 2, turns into 3, etc. My goal is to start off my mornings being productive and getting rewarded with a break, maybe a walk around the block? Do you have any successful productivity tips that you live by?
