On Sunday we decided to head out to the Mega Mall in Logan Square to take photos. The Mega Mall closed and is going to be demolished in June. Before the demolition, around two dozen Chicago artists were given the chance to paint the exterior walls of the building. Definitely try and check it out at soon as you can before it gets torn down, there are so many gorgeous pieces. We shot at it once more since Sunday and I can’t wait to share those photos too!
After we took some photos, I headed to Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba to enjoy brunch with some lovely local Chicago bloggers including Amber from All the Cute, Sarah from Windy City Wanderlust, Lydia from The Artful Attempt, and Danielle from Wild Night In. It was so nice getting to know other girls working full-time and blogging. The food and company were wonderful and it was a great way to end the weekend before our trip to Kenosha. For brunch I had their serrano ham eggs benedict and the french toast with goat cheese. Both were fantastic and I would have again!
For my father-in-laws birthday we spent Sunday afternoon and evening in Kenosha visiting the Civil War Museum and then dinner. He had a great time talking to the reenactors that worked there and trading facts about the war. For dinner we went to an Italian restaurant called Mangia and everyone really loved their food. We did all have a long island from The Boat House right before dinner, so that could have added to the enjoyment of the food! We really liked the town and hope to go back soon, especially since they have running street cars there but we weren’t able to ride one.
