Chicago’s weather has actually been so nice these past few days so we made an effort to get out as much as possible. It’s also not very often you can get away with wearing a cardigan as a coat in February and we probably won’t be able to anymore in a few days. Feeling like spring outside, I decided to layered this Versailles Pullover from HOM Venice over my trusty Chambray shirt from JCrew Factory.
We took these photos outside of Jackalope Coffee and Tea House in Bridgeport. This was our first time there to have some breakfast and coffee. Quite a few years ago we attended a Halloween party there (dressed as Sam and Suzy from Moonrise Kingdom) with our mutual friends of the owners.
The coffee shop is mythical creature themed. All of their breakfast and lunch sandwiches have names such as chimera, chupacabra, or centaur. It is the perfect place if you like quirky colorful walls and lots of tea options. They sell donuts from Bridgeport Bakery, which was very exciting for us to find out. Dan indulged in a maple bacon donut, while I enjoyed a cinnamon and sugar one. Both were amazingly delicious.
We didn’t remember what the outside of the shop looked like but once we saw the vibrant, colorful art on the walls we knew we had our spot to shoot some photos. I also loved how the blue door matched the sweater. We are always so excited when we get somewhere and realize that the background of the photo seems to fit so well with the outfit. Like how the green and blue plaid dress from Novelstyle matched Lake Michigan on that gloomy wintery day. I still want the clothes to stand apart from the scenery, but it is pretty cool when the background shares the same accent colors.
