Fashion is all about trying out new things right? Well this weekend I decided to sport a blazer and heels for a night out. I’ve worn blazers before but mostly just to work or over a dress because I wanted to wear something other than a cardigan. Also pretty much unheard of for me is wearing heels when I’m not going to a wedding or something else where it is pretty much required. Since I was wearing jeans and trying to look classier I figured heels would do the trick. These Mary Janes from Naturalizer are super comfortable, so walking and standing is not a problem at all.
We went to Gaslight Coffee in Logan Square for a cappuccino and chai latte, which is basically our go to when we are looking to just relax and talk. It is the perfect time to plan our vacations, talk about work, or just goof off because we really need a laugh. Afterward we decided to get a snack at The Radler which is right next door. They are a German bar, so lots of sausage and schnitzel on the menu. We shared a delicious buttery pretzel. Their specialty drink is a radler which is just made with beer and a flavored San Pellegrino- either grapefruit, blood orange, or lemon. The blood orange was delicious and you could add a shot to make it a cocktail, and it was so good! We grabbed another cocktail at the Whistler, did some people watching, then headed home.
Sunday we decided to explore the Portage Park neighborhood and by chance we ended up sort of reliving our honeymoon in Italy. We shared a pizza and some delicious espresso and chocolate chip gelato. It brought back some really good memories of eating pizza and gelato pretty much every night!
Hope you had a lovely weekend and a great start to your week!
